Youth and Community Outreach
Youth and Community Outreach Programs provide immediate, on-site prevention and early intervention for youth.
Goals of the Program:
- Establish links between youth, schools and agency/community supports
- Increase positive community involvement
- Early intervention programming
- Foster social and emotional growth
- Develop prosocial values and behaviours at school and in the community
- Empower youth to realize their full potential as future graduates and contributing members of the community
What the Program Provides:
- Conflict resolution
- Mediation
- Crisis intervention
- Community resource linkage
- Group facilitation (Choices, Peer Power)
- Coordination of immediate on-site services
- Support for individual school goals
- Opportunities to celebrate youths' success
Youths are referred by:
- School Personnel
- Family Members
- Peers
- Self-Referrals
- Other Community Agencies
