HR Generalist

We are searching for a motivated professional to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist.  In this role, you be an integral member of our HR team, responsible for a variety of HR deliverables, including administering employee files and HRIS databases, preparing HR documents, learning about employee scheduling and supporting recruitment and onboarding / offboarding activities.

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for…

  • Coordinating employee scheduling and training using HR software
  • Organizing and maintaining personnel records, preparing a variety of HR documents and database administration
  • Supporting recruitment including posting job advertisements, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, attending job fairs, etc.
  • Providing frontline employee relations support
  • Assisting with SLCS’ onboarding program for new hires, including scheduling new hire onboarding activities, assigning onboarding tasks to new hires and ensuring new hires successfully complete all onboarding activities.
  • Supporting multiple committees including the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), Human Services & Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC), etc. through administration and participation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution in human resources or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in human resources or a relevant role.
  • Experience using HR software an asset
  • Experience with scheduling an asset
  • CHRP designation or working towards your designation.
  • A valid G Class driver’s licence and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
