Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer – Youth Justice Committees

Our achievements are not possible without the ongoing support and dedication of our volunteers.

SLCS has a committed group of volunteers for our Youth Justice Committees. They encourage communities to begin to understand the causes of crime by using a restorative approach towards prevention.

Volunteers are trained community members who meet with the accused and persons harmed to make amends for the accused’s actions.

The application process includes the application form, police and reference checks as well as a formal interview.

Once accepted, there may be a wait until the next 40-hour training session is offered.  Applicants are asked to make a minimum 1 year commitment to attend meetings on a biweekly basis depending on need and availability.

If you would like to start the application process, please email hr@slcs.ca.
